Body Painting Fundraiser Supports Art Intervention

Artist Ja’Mere Brown creates an body painting piece on Jonelle McDougal.
In the tradition of African culture, the “Color Schemes: Cocktails and Coloring,” fundraiser was held for guests to experience interactive coloring on live murals. A special presentation was performed as a tribute to families grieving the loss of their children and loved ones. Proceeds from the event support programs provided by Anuwai Life, Inc., a nonprofit organization founded by event organizer Dr. Kennesha Bracely, who started the organization as a way to continue the legacy of her son, Dante’ Long, who lost his life  at the age of 19 due to a senseless act of violence.
Anuwai Life, Inc. provides access to art based interventions for mental health and wellness, in inclusive art environments. Sixteen hundred dollars was raised to continue Bracely’s work for professional resources for young creative’s as they work towards turning their innovative passions into viable careers. Murals for interactive coloring were created by artists Ashley Daramola of Atlanta, GA, and local tattoo artist Tova Stanley of Soulful Tattoos. A Tupac themed airbrush portrait was created by tattoo artist Mac Boss of Soulful Tattoos.
