By Lynn Jones – The local New Black Panther Partner can still boast that the legendary organization remains on the front-line for justice. Currently, the local chapter is building up youth with their new ‘Black Youth Movement, Inc.’ subsidiary. The youth movement is a safe haven for African American youth to learn about themselves and culture. Youth enhance their individuality as an active affiliate in the local chapter.

Recently, the Panthers held a round-table with local youth to discuss Black Lives Matters topics.  Discussion topics included ending police brutality, economic development and stopping gang and domestic violence. Minister of self-defense, Mikhail Muhammad stated, “Young men have to learn to treat women with respect for their internal significant and not physicality. Also gang violence is at a high rate. Our plan is to nip this behavior and focus on the future,” said Mikhail. The organization also advocates for young men to acknowledge black woman, building with her to expound upon Black excellence.
The New Black Panther Party (TNBPP) was originally founded in Dallas, Texas in 1989 to engage black citizens in community activism.  The group portrays itself as a modern-day expression of the black power movement. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Next up for the TNBPP youth organization is a stop the violence rally scheduled for August 22nd at Hemming Plaza for Black Youth Unity Day.
