The three-day college tour took 46 students to Valdosta State University, Clark Atlanta University, Morehouse College, Spelman College, Emory University and Georgia State University. The students also visited the Martin Luther King Center for Non Violent Social Change and Civil Right Museum.
In its third year, the tour is meant to expose students to area colleges and campus life, educate students on admissions requirements, and create conversation among students and their peers related to choices for higher education. Over the past two college tours, 80 percent of the students who have attended go on to college. The J100 also host a college fair and ongoing mentoring programs.
